EPC模式由于克服了传统的工程项目承发包模式中设计 、采购和施工相对独立造成的弊端，通过统一调度和管理有效转移了投资风险，现已成为国际上普遍采用的项目承发包模式。但是，由于我国现有项目交付模式依旧采用二维方式作为设计工具和信息传递媒介，导致现有项目交付模式在工作整合、信息传递等方面依旧不够理想，未能真正实现项目的集成化管理。随着信息化进程的不断加快，各企业都十分重视通过利用信息技术的利用提升企业管理水平，尤其是以EPC总承包为主要发展方向的大型建设企业对此更加重视，但目前并无针对EPC项目的成熟的信息化建设方案。 论文首先对EPC模式下工程管理信息化的国内外现状与研究成果进行分析，讨论从项目管理的实际出发，分析了建筑企业EPC项目管理信息化急需解决的问题，针对这些问题从工程项目的设计、采购、施工各环节的“三大目标”控制的信息化建设内容方面进行了详细的研究，提出了EPC项目信息化管理整体设计框架，对系统进行了详细的需求分析，包括业务需求和功能需求，对系统进行了总体设计与模块设计，包括计划BIM模型、文档管理、事物管理、控制系统等功能模块，给出了模块设计的功能结构图和处理流程图，进行了各功能界面设计的建议，同时为配套平台系统开发基于无线网络的PC、pad、手机APP客户端提供了建设思路。 本文构建的信息化管理系统提供的功能是EPC项目的周期管理，对项目运行中的各个环节进行统一的管理和规划，提高项目运营的效率，降低效率成本、保证项目能够按时按量的完成。
