Finance is the lifeblood of the national economy and it is related to the overall situation of Chinese modernization construction. Since the 18th CPC National Congress, the CPC Central Committee, with Comrade Xi Jinping at its core, has provided comprehensive leadership and overall planning for financial work from the perspective of the strategic overall situation, promoting the development of the financial sector to achieve new significant achievements and walking out of a road of financial development with Chinese characteristics. General Secretary Xi Jinping has made a series of important expositions on financial work, elevating the Party's understanding of the essential laws of financial work and the path of development to a new theoretical level. In-depth study of Xi Jinping's important expositions on financial work is of great theoretical and practical significance for deeply understanding and systematically grasping the scientific connotation, theoretical qualities and contemporary value of Xi Jinping's important expositions on financial work and doing a good job of China's financial work in the new era.

Using the methods of literature research, textual research, and the unification of history and logic, the thesis study on formation condition, scientific connotation, theoretical qualities, and contemporary value of Xi Jinping's important expositions on financial work. The study proves that the changes in the structure of the world economy and finance, the frequent turbulence in the international financial market, the intricacies of China's financial risks, and the urgent need to improve the international competitiveness of the financial system are the background to the formation of Xi Jinping's important expositions on financial work. The financial theories of Marx, Engels, and Lenin, the financial ideas implied in the excellent traditional Chinese culture, as well as the important expositions on financial work by Mao Zedong, Deng Xiaoping, Jiang Zemin, and Hu Jintao are the theoretical sources for the formation of this important expositions. The practical development of financial work in the new era and Xi Jinping's personal experience of attaching importance to financial work are the practical basis for the formation of this important expositions. Xi Jinping's important expositions on financial work is rich in content, including establishing the strategic position of finance in the overall situation of national development in the new era, adhering to and strengthening the Party's leadership of financial work, adhering to the service of finance for the development of the real economy, adhering to forestalling major financial risks, actively and steadily raising the level of financial openness, and promoting high-quality development of finance for the construction of a strong financial country.
