随着中国经济发展模式的转轨、增长方式的转变，以往以GDP为导向的经济形态逐渐被以社会全面发展为导向的经济形态所替代，虽然经济增长方式得到了优化重组，但是一个不争的事实就是经济增长速度的放缓。宏观上意味着出口、消费、投资这三驾拉动经济发展的马车在放缓速度，微观上对大学生群体来说最直接的冲击就是工作岗位的缩减，就业压力的加剧。同时，伴随着高校扩招后续负面影响的逐渐显现，大学毕业生群体的数量在不断扩大，2016年的毕业生数量高达765万，工作岗位已经严重供大于求。在这样的供需矛盾下，国家倡导的“大众创业、万众创新”，并且出台的一系列的相关配套政策正逢其时。一时间掀起了一股大学生创业热潮。但是经济、政治、文化、社会是一个有机整体，经济的发展波动也会影响社会的发展局势。在利益多元、价值多元、社会矛盾多维呈现的大背景下，大学生创业实践中出现的问题逐渐增多，这就突显了要对大学生创业行为做必要的教育及价值引导的重要性。 大学生创业教育研究着力于创业教育和思想政治教育的深入结合，有着独特的研究内容和教育模式，具有引导大学生树立良好的创业观、塑造良好的创业品质和人格、架构创业教育的社会支持网络等一系列内涵。通过问卷调查，了解了当前高校开展的创业教育的发展状况，找出了阻碍创业教育发展的因素，同时呼吁从国家层面、社会层面、高校和家庭层面以及大学生群体、个人层面等进行引导支持，营造重视和促进创业教育发展的氛围，从而对大学生创业实践提供有益的精神支持和价值引导。在新常态背景下，广泛开展对大学生创业教育的研究，不仅能够为大学生在社会主义市场经济浪潮中的创业实践保驾护航，保障大学生的创业行为符合社会主义发展方向，同时在一定程度上也为思想政治理论的发展提供了有益的实践探索。
