近年来,全球经济发展与生态保护之间的矛盾日益突出,伴随工业化而来的环境问题向世界各国提出严峻挑战。2020年9月,中国向世界做出庄严承诺:力争于2030年前实现碳达峰,2060年前实现碳中和。在此背景下,开展“双碳”领域前沿科技文本的翻译实践与研究具有重要意义。

本报告在全译论指导下,以《低碳发展蓝皮书:中国碳中和发展报告(2022)》“总报告”章节为对象进行汉英翻译实践,并结合典型案例,从对应模式、增减模式、转换模式、分合模式四个角度及其所含的对译、增译、减译、移译、换译、分译、合译七种方法说明全译论之于科技文本翻译的有效性。分析发现:全译论在科技文本翻译的词汇、短语、句子层面均具有指导作用。专业术语、短语或结构清晰、语义明确的简单句可采用对译法进行处理,而较为复杂的长难句、松散句、无主语句等则需译者根据语境,灵活选用增、减、移、换、分、合的方法综合翻译。本报告回顾了笔者翻译“双碳”领域前沿科技文本的实践过程,分析了全译论对于科技文本翻译的指导作用,希冀为相关翻译实践与研究提供参考。

As the contradiction between global economic development and ecological protection arose in recent years, serious challenges were posed to all countries worldwide. Following the principle of green and low-carbon development, China has put forward its “double carbon” target, aiming to achieve a carbon peak by 2030 and carbon neutrality by 2060. Against this background, it is of great significance to carry out translation practice and studies on scientific and technical texts in the field of “double-carbon”.

Under the guidance of the complete translation theory, this report takes the “General Report” of Blue Book of Low-Carbon Development: Annual Report on the Carbon Neutrality in China (2022) to carry out the Chinese-to-English translation practice, discussing the effectiveness of the complete translation theory in guiding the scientific and technical translation with typical examples from the perspective of four models and seven methods. It is found that complete translation theory plays a vital role in guiding scientific and technical translation at the level of words, phrases, and sentences. Professional terms, phrases, or simple sentences with a clear structure and precise meaning can be dealt with through the correspondence method. In contrast, the complicated, long, loose, and non-subjective sentences require a comprehensive and flexible application of addition, subtraction, transposition, substitution, division, and synthesization according to a certain context. This report reviews a Chinese-to-English translation process of “double carbon” related scientific and technical text, analyzing the guiding role of the complete translation theory in scientific and technical translation, which is supposed to shed light on relevant studies in the future.
