网络的出现拓展了人们的视野，改变了人类的生活方式。由计算机和网络为脉络形成的新环境，颠覆了人类传统的观念和实践方式。网络社会发展的阶段特点与网络个体发展的阶段特点一致，从信息和知识的共享层面到文化和意识共享，这种多层次的交叉结构成为网络个体生存和发展的空间，网络思想政治教育应运而生。而网络社会中的矛盾对网络思想政治教育理论和实践的发展带来了新的挑战。 网络思想政治教育在长期的实践中取得了大量研究成果，但由于经验总结更多于理论成果，造成理论指导滞后于现实问题。本文的研究是基于网络技术、网络文化、网络社会融合发展，系统审视网络社会面临的诸多问题，从前人理论研究的角度，结合实际案例，真实准确的反映出其所面临的现状，通过一系列深入分析和研究，进一步提出改进意见。 文章的创新之处在对调查问卷数据分析的过程中借鉴管理学SWOT分析理论中的定量分析，将主观罗列的判断和分析以客观分析方法和数据所取代，用管理学中的分析模型和计算，客观的将数据所反应的情况准确的表达出来，对当前形势的分析更加客观准确，对战略的制定更加有理可循，有据可依。在对当前网络思想政治教育形势的对策提出中，通过分析的结果，立足于网络思想政治教育的积极理念和开拓精神，对此层面深入阐释。网络思想政治教育在价值引导、教育过程以及宣传格局和群体道德方面需要改进和提升。本文提出了应加大网络思想政治教育方法的创新力度，实现教育方法、教育模式、教育手段和途径等方面的转变。
