随着计算机技术以及通讯技术的迅猛发展,信息在日常生活中的作用越来越大,已经成为市场竞争的重要手段。多媒体数据能够使信息的内容更加丰富生动而成为信息的重要载体,这些多媒体数据不同于传统的结构化数据,它们具有数据量大、种类多样、非结构化的特点,使得传统数据库在管理和检索上存在一定的限制,因此研究如何对多媒体数据进行管理,并实现有效检索,具有十分重要的理论价值和应用价值。
多媒体数据库是适应多媒体数据管理和检索需求而形成的一种数据库技术,基于内容的检索是针对多媒体数据内容难以描述、数据量大的特点产生的,也是当前研究的热点。本文首先介绍了多媒体数据的特点、多媒体数据库系统、基于内容检索的概念和特点,并给出了基于内容检索的多媒体数据库的体系结构。在此基础上深入分析了ORACLE interMedia对多媒体数据和基于内容检索的支持环境,同时结合ORACLE interMedia的ORDImage、ORDVideo、ORDAudio、ORDImageSignature等对象的特点,采用对象-关系数据模型建立了多媒体数据库。通过分析图像、视频、音频等多媒体数据的内容特征,克服了传统的利用单一属性特征检索的局限性,将多媒体数据静态结构属性和动态媒体内容相结合,给出了多媒体内容智能检索的原理和算法描述,提高了检索的效率。
本文运用J2EE技术,以 ORACLE interMedia为数据存储平台,设计实现了一个B/S模式的多媒体数据库智能检索软件系统,实现相关算法。最后对本系统实验,达到了预期的效果。

With the rapid development of computer technology and communication technology, the function of information increases in daily life, and it has become an important method of market competition. Because multimedia data can make the content of the information more rich and vivid, so it is an important carrier of information, the multimedia data is different from the traditional structured data because of its characteristics,such as large amount of data, wide varieties and unstructured data, which leads some restrictions on the management and retrieval by using traditional database, so the study on how to mange multimedia data and achieve effective retrieval has important theoretical and practical value.
Multimedia database is a database technology to meet the multimedia data management and retrieval needs, content-based retrieval is put forward to solve the multimedia data content with the characteristics of a large amount of data and content is difficult to describe.Content-based retrieval become a hot research topic. This paper present the characteristics of multimedia data, multimedia database systems, the concepts and features of content-based retrieval respectively, then content-based multimedia database retrieval architecture is given , and analyze the environment of ORACLE interMedia support multimedia data and content-based retrieval, combined with the characteristics of ORDImage, ORDVideo, ORDAudio, ORDImageSignature simultaneously and build the data model by using object-relational technology . To overcome the traditional retrieval methods which use single attribute, the paper combine the static and dynamic properties of multimedia through the analysis of image, video, audio and other multimedia data and give the principle and algorithm of the multimedia retrieval, all these methods has improved the retrieval efficiency.
This paper designs and implements an experimental system of content-based multimedia data intellectual retrieval of B/S mode by using the technology of J2EE and ORACLE interMedia and implement the related algorithm.The research has achieved the expected results which proved by the experiments.
