ABSTRACT
In May 1942, Mao Zedong pointed out the relationship between literature and art and the people in his speech at the Yan'an Forum on Literature and Art, and proposed the policy of literature and art serving workers, peasants, and soldiers. Two speeches have shown that the literary and artistic cause is an important cause of the Party and the people. At the historical juncture of fully building a moderately prosperous society and moving towards the second centenary goal of building a socialist modernized strong country, it is particularly important to reread Mao Zedong's speech, especially from the perspective of Marxist philosophy, to understand and interpret it.
Mao Zedong, based on the actual situation of the literary and artistic circles at that time, combined with the experience of the May Fourth Movement, aimed to solve the many problems faced by the literary and artistic circles during the Anti Japanese War, which had important summarizing and guiding significance, and laid the foundation for the Party's literary and artistic thought. This article adopts the methods of literature research, historical analysis, and comparative research to systematically explore the formation, domestic and international influence, and main content of "The Speech", with a focus on exploring its philosophical implications and contemporary inspirations. Firstly, the historical background, theoretical sources, and domestic and foreign influences of "The Speech" were summarized. Secondly, the main content of the speech was organized, elaborating on the purpose of holding a symposium on literature and art, the basic position, views and methods of the Party's literary and artistic cause, as well as its guiding ideology and leadership core, and a series of important issues in literary and artistic thought. Once again, the Marxist philosophical implications of the "Speech" were analyzed. The speech mainly discusses literary and artistic work, but goes beyond the field of literature and art, and conducts philosophical thinking, solving the problems of the worldview, epistemology, and historical view of the Party's literary and artistic workers. Finally, the enlightenment of the speech on literary and artistic work in the new era was summarized. In the new era, literary and artistic workers must theoretically adhere to the Marxist scientific worldview and methodology, adhere to the benign interaction between practical and theoretical innovation, adhere to the basic principles of historical materialism, and in practice, adhere to the leadership of the Party, put the people at the center, and maintain cultural confidence. It is the theoretical foundation and practical guide for the creative, life, and values of Chinese literary and artistic workers in the new era.
