十八大以来，党和国家将全面深化依法治国的战略提升到新的高度，我国法治建设的进程明显加快。回顾我国30多年的普法宣传活动，民众对法治的认识水平有了很大的提高，但是由于我国人治思想影响深远，缺乏法治传统，法治基础比较薄弱。人们对法治缺乏应有的信仰，法治实践的动力严重不足。而我国民众法治意识的落后已经阻碍了我国的法治建设。强化民众的法治意识对于全面推进依法治国、建设社会主义法治国家具有重要意义，所以有关法治意识的研究目前显得尤为重要。 本文在对前人研究成果分析、整理的基础上，对民众法治意识问题进行了实地问卷调查，根据十八届四中全会后我国全面推进依法治国的总体要求，通过文献研究法、比较分析法及问卷调查法等研究方法，创新性地从民众对法治的自我认识角度出发，对当代中国民众法治意识问题进行了研究，得出当代中国民众法治意识比较薄弱的现实情况，通过分析民众法治意识薄弱的原因，提出当代中国民众法治意识的培养对策。本文主要通过五章的结构安排对相关问题进行了分析和阐述。第一部分是绪论，介绍了本文的选题背景和意义，该选题国内、国外的研究现状以及所用的研究方法，并提出了本文的研究思路、论文结构和可能的创新之处与不足；第二部分是对当代中国民众法治意识这一命题的基本理论概述，从马克思主义关于法治意识理论分析、中国特色社会主义法治意识的基本思想、中国民众法治意识的演变、当代中国民众法治意识的基本概念及现实作用进行了论述；第三部分是对当代中国民众法治意识的现状分析，得出了当前我国民众法治意识的成就和存在的问题；第四部分着重对当代中国民众法治意识存在的问题从宣传教育、政治、经济、文化四个方面进行了深入的剖析，并在第五部分对这些问题提出了相对应的解决对策和建议。
