科技进步日新月异、国际交流日益频繁，建设科技强国势在必行，科技英语作为交流工具必不可少。科技类文本翻译是学习和掌握国外先进技术、服务我国经济建设和社会发展的重要手段，也是推广我国最新发明、创造和技术的有力武器。作为一种跨文化、跨语言的交际活动，科技英语翻译融理论与实践于一体、融专业培养与翻译技能普及于一体。本文立足翻译实践活动，从功能对等理论出发，探究科技类文本汉英翻译的方法和技巧，旨在进一步深化理论研究，明晰翻译活动的方向性和评价标准。

该翻译实践报告是基于笔者进行地矿类学术论文《煤矿资源综合利用的整体多联产系统研究》的翻译实践。在功能对等理论的指导下，通过分析文章的语言特点以及目的读者对译文的要求，总结相应的翻译方法和技巧，力求准确传达原文信息。通过此次翻译实践，笔者发现，以功能对等理论为指导，可在词汇、句法、语篇三个层面达到意义上的对等，译本的语言风格也更加符合目的语读者的表达习惯，体现了科技文本的准确性、客观性和逻辑性。该报告对翻译实践过程进行总结，提炼典型事例诠释翻译思路，希望对此类文本的翻译提供参考和借鉴。

It is imperative to build a strong country in science and technology, given the rapid advancement of science and technology and the rising frequency of international exchanges. As a communication tool, English for science and technology is indispensable. Translation of scientific and technical texts is a critical way to learn and master advanced foreign technologies and an effective means to serve the economic construction and social development, and a great weapon to promote the latest inventions, creations, and technologies. As a cross-cultural and cross-language communicative activity, sci-tech translation is a process of integrating theory and practice, coupled with professional training and translation skills. Based on the functional equivalence theory, this paper explores the methods and techniques of C-E translation of sci-tech texts to deepen the theoretical research and clarify the evaluation criteria of translation activities.

This report is based on the translation practice of an academic paper in geology and mining titled A Study of Integrated Poly-Generation System of Coal Mining Resources with Comprehensive Utilization. Guided by the functional equivalence theory, the translator summarized the corresponding translation methods and techniques with the linguistic features of the text analyzed and the target readers’ requirements in an attempt to convey the original information accurately. Through this translation practice, the translator discovered that meaning equivalence could be achieved at the lexical, syntactic, and discourse levels from the perspective of the functional equivalence theory, resulting in the fact that the language style of the translated version is more consistent with the expression habits of the target language readers. Then the accuracy, objectivity, and logic of the scientific and technical text turn out to be satisfactory. The process of translation practice is pictured, and the typical examples are given a detailed illustration in this report to discover the translation strategies and techniques and provide a reference for the translation of such texts.
